KEY PRIORITIES

EDUCATION

Each and every child in the state of Minnesota desesrves the opportunity to thrive by receiving a high-quality public education.

  • Fully-funding our public school systems for educational success and support resources for students pre-K-12 by eliminating our Special Education and English language learners services cross-subsidies;

  • Increasing and funding additional mental health resources, staff and programs for students and staff statewide to address increasing needs, especially those experiencing mental health crisis;

  • Expanding preschool options to give our youngest learners the important start they need to succeed;

  • Prioritizing student-centered learning by honoring local decision making for elected school boards best positioned to work with students, staff, parents and community to address local needs and challenges.

PUBLIC SAFETY + SECURITY

A comprehensive approach that identifies and supports multiple pillars for ensuring safety and securing in our homes and communities - which is essential to our well-being.

  • Effective actions to stop senseless gun violence in our communities like safe storage requirements and the reporting of stolen and lost firearms;

  • Ensuring our first responders are well-resourced and supported including wellness programs that address PTSD and related issues, increasing access to disability when needed, and providing PTO for work-related trauma;

  • Funding to support alternative response team programs within our cities’ police and fire departments so they are equipped to address social service and mental health crises calls appropriately;

  • Supports and funding for first responders recruitment and retention programs that include incentives and part-time licensure;

  • Identifying and advocating for proven crime prevention programs for our communities.

EQUAL RIGHTS

Every individual has the right to equal protection and benefit of the law without discrimination of any kind. It is imperative our laws reflect this basic protection for our families, friends and neighbors, and that includes advocacy for individuals with disabilities so equal opportunity is truly rooted in accessibility.

  • Pass the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to our Constitution;

  • Ensure policies are person-centered, and support funding to research, evaluate and address existing American Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant-deficiencies;

  • Support for LGBTQ+ people in all aspects of their lives including healthcare, education, housing, and mental health;

  • Protect seniors from being victims of scams and fraud by funding awareness programs, practical resources and creating a restitution fund for victims.

HEALTHCARE

Minnesotans deserve quality healthcare they can access and afford without the interference of politics.

  • Providing all Minnesotans the access to healthcare with an option to buy MinnesotaCare;

  • Reducing the cost of prescription medicine for individuals and families;

  • Increasing telehealth medical care accessibility throughout the state;

  • Safeguarding women’s reproductive rights, and ensuring insurance coverage for reproductive health care includes IVF, abortion, and gender-affirming care.

DEMOCRACY

The foundation of our government is free and fair elections which define democracy. Minnesotans exercising their right to vote freely and easily is critically important now more than ever; it is how we ensure our elections truly reflect who we are as a state and how we move forward as communities.

  • Support achievable and impactful tools, like ranked choice voting (RCV) to support a democracy where the majority wins;

  • Passing the local options bill so we can give communities, like Edina, the ability to adopt RCV if they so choose.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTIONS

I believe in our state’s vision to identify issues and strategies to reach important climate and environment goals, and support the Climate Action Framework working for a better, healthier planet for future generations.

  • Support our state’s vision with prioritization, appropriate funding, and efforts to socialize with public and business stakeholders for real-time impact;

  • Invest in action steps to reduce carbon emissions and power our state with 100% carbon-free energy by 2040;

  • Protect Minnesota’s lakes to ensure clean water for years to come by fighting against projects that do not adhere to our state’s strict pollution control requirements.

ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES

A comprehensive approach to supporting strong economic opportunities starts with an understanding that all elements of our economy are intertwined. From promoting and incentivizing small business growth to ensuring basic social services are accessible and available, we have a responsibility to ensure our economic system is on a positive trajectory.
